Phylloscopus fuscatus - MEGA!! Empty Phylloscopus fuscatus - MEGA!!

A report yesterday ("Yahoo Raridades") from Ian Lewington that Nic Hallam has seen, heard and photographed a Dusky Warbler (Phylloscopus fuscatus) in the scrub near the recently re-built hide at Quinta da Lago.

"A friend of mine, Nic Hallam, found and photographed a Dusky Warbler
(Phylloscopus fuscatus) in the Algarve today. It was in scrub calling
frequently near the new hide at Quinta do Lago.

I'm sure he will be sending you a description and photos when he
returns from holiday. It may stay there long enough for some
Portuguese birders to see it.

Best wishes,

Ian Lewington.

Oxford. UK. "

News from anyone re-locating the bird would be most welcome.

I have just heard from Simon (Wates) this evening, and after five hours of searching the bird was not seen again today, but he is confident that it was actually heard responding to "played calls".

I will try for it tomorrow since previous recent occurrences of this species in the U.K. have shown that it is faithful to a particular site for two weeks or more.

Not a "first" for Portugal, but would be a "Lifer" for me.
